1. Measure your pet lying stretched out, from the nose to the base of the tail.

2. Compare it with the size of the bed, given in centimetres on this page. Where a sleeping area is given, compare with that: it is the space inside the rim.

3. Check the weight where a size lists the weight it suits.

Between two sizes? Take the larger one if your pet likes to stretch out, the smaller one if it sleeps curled up.

Grey dog bed mat for crates and floors

This grey dog bed is a flat, quilted mat in soft pale grey plush, with a plump stitched border round the edge. It lies flat on a rug or slots into the tray of a wire crate, and it's machine washable. There are five sizes, from 30 x 50 cm up to 80 x 110 cm, and the largest covers the floor of a big crate or a good patch of hallway. It's a simple, easy bed to live with, and there's a size for dogs up to 35 kg.

Which size for which dog

Go for 30 x 50 cm under 5 kg, 40 x 60 cm under 8 kg, 60 x 80 cm under 15 kg, 70 x 100 cm under 25 kg and 80 x 110 cm under 35 kg. Between sizes, choose the larger.
