How to choose the right size

1. Measure your pet lying stretched out, from the nose to the base of the tail.

2. Compare it with the size of the bed, given in centimetres on this page. Where a sleeping area is given, compare with that: it is the space inside the rim.

3. Check the weight where a size lists the weight it suits.

Between two sizes? Take the larger one if your pet likes to stretch out, the smaller one if it sleeps curled up.

Extra large dog bed with a sofa-style headrest

This extra large dog bed is built like a sofa: a flat sleeping surface with one raised end that works as a headrest. The base is egg crate foam, moulded in ridges rather than cut flat, and the ridges let air move under your dog. The cover is corduroy on the outside, with a rosette-textured plush where your dog lies. It comes in grey or black, in four sizes from 71 x 58 x 16 cm up to 122 x 89 x 17 cm. It arrives compressed, so give the foam 24 hours to fill out.

Putting it together

It comes in two parts, the foam and the cover. Once the foam has expanded, the cover zips round it. The cover goes in the washing machine on its own, without the foam.
